IAAD organisers cement meeting success

by Guy Hiscott

The first all-Ireland meeting of the Irish Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (IAAD) on 4 March welcomed world-class speaker Walter Devoto, whose motivation to educate rather than simply impress his audience more than lived up to the delegates’ expectations.

He presented with his usual Italian flair, making good use of an enormous screen to share still photographs and video demonstrations. The topic – ‘Invisible composites: the art and science of adhesion’ – was simplified to provide practical details of how to achieve superb results for patients reliably, predictably and quickly.

The theory was cemented by a full day of hands-on training the following day for those lucky enough to get a place on the heavily oversubscribed practical sessions.

The conference was aimed at the whole team, with the IAAD also running a special event for RDNs. These sessions explored topics ranging from digital dentistry to infection control, as well as handpiece maintenance to the sterile procedures involved in implant surgery.

A great success, more than 100 delegates attended the various seminars and made the most of the trade show where 24 top companies were exhibiting.

The aim of the IAAD is the pursuit of excellence in dental aesthetics in Ireland. With members’ ongoing enthusiasm and support, the Association intends to continue to bring world-class educators to Ireland.
