Complimentary Sonicare toothbrush for perio delegates

Courtesy of Philips Sonicare, all delegates of the Belfast event ‘Professional and profitable perio: understanding perio clinically, financially and medico-legally’ will receive a free Sonicare toothbrush.

The event, taking place on 14 January at the Ulster Museum, will allow attendees to hear lectures from Prof. Philip Preshaw, Dr Amarjit Gill and Shaun Howe, as well as offering the opportunity to make the most of a hands-on session covering the basics of periodontal assessment and treatment.

The hands-on portion of the day will cover:
• The which, why and when of probing: learn the basics of periodontal assessment – which probe to use, where and how to use it
• Ultrasonics are different: learn how you should be using ultrasonic instruments for treating your patients
• Using a sonic toothbrush for perio patients: learn how to instruct patients in effective at home treatment using Sonicare.

In addition, the lecturers will address:
• Techniques for effective management of periodontal disease – Prof. P Preshaw
• Perio in practice including information on new treatment technologies – Dr Amarjit Gill
• Perio, probes and probity including medico legal implications – Shaun Howe.

The event is immediately followed by the BDA Northern Ireland’s Presidential installation at Queen’s University Belfast.
